Based in Kalamazoo, MI, Native Landscapes was built to provide natural resources based services to anyone seeking them.
Who We Are
Randy Counterman founded Native Landscapes in 2013 and remains as the principle force behind the operation today. After serving in the Air Force and then the private sector in the Information Technology field for 14 years, Randy turned his focus to concentrate on working outside and protecting our natural resources. First earning an Associates Degree in Fisheries and Natural Resources from Kalamazoo Valley Community College while employed at The Upjohn Company, Randy went on to achieve a BSc Degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University and then a MSc Degree in Natural Resources Management from Grand Valley State University.

What We Do
Native Landscapes, LLC was created to protect, enhance, restore and build habitat for the rare, threatened, and endangered plants and animals of southwestern Michigan. We do this through constant and continuous learning, working directly in and manipulating these systems, and then promoting our findings and teaching what we have learned from working in these natural systems.
